On Tuesday morning we welcomed many parents and children to a Winter Crafts workshop.
On Monday 5th December, the federation choir and Year 5 from Snowsfields and Tower Bridge gathered to parade their lanterns from Potter’s Fields to Hay’s Galleria. The Mayor of Southwark turned on the lights and we all sang carols, led by the choir. We certainly caught the attention of people leaving their offices and tourists by the river. It was a wonderful event. Thanks so much to the children, staff and parents who came. Thankyou to our partners – TeamLondonBridge and Potter’s Fields for giving the children such a wonderful opportunity.
Year 5 and Year 6 have met their Shine Mentors for this year. Students from Kings College sign up to mentor a pupil over the academic year. They support in lessons and give up their valuable time each week to check in on pupils in school. Here are some of the children giving a grand tour.
The Bridges Federation Choir began their series of concerts at the Norton Rose Fulbright Holly Fayre.
They sang beautifully and attracted many people from their desks to listen.
Year Five have been making lanterns for the Lantern Parade along the river on Monday 5th December.
Year One were invited to Potter’s Fields to learn about how chocolate is made by Divine Chocolate. They also received an advent calendar.
On 25th November, the school was held to ransom by Viking Invaders! Year 5 have been learning about the Vikings all term. They presented us with artefacts and a retelling of the famous story Beowulf! Well done to all the children, Ajita and Ben for their hardwork. Thanks too to all the parents who came to watch.
On Monday 21st November, we were pleased to welcome 34 delegates from across the South East who attended a one day seminar for G&T coordinators .
This course was a led by Pauline Hinchliffe a NACE Award Challenge assessor who provided the coordinators with the foundations that support good provision and guidance on strategies for creating high expectations and challenge in the classroom. We were really proud as a NACE Challenge Award school to share with our guests some of the good practice and provision our more able children benefit from at the Bridges Federation.
About us
The Bridges Federation is made up of three schools: Snowsfields, Tower Bridge and Robert Browning. The Federation was formed in February 2014 and became a permanent partnership in September 2015. The three schools work closely together to ensure we provide the same high quality education for all our children, however all three schools have their own identity and feel.
